WORKCOVER – WORKER’S COMPENSATION

WorkCover is the Victorian scheme that governs and regulates workplace injuries, providing compensation for people who are injured during their employment. If you have sustained a physical or mental injury as a result of your employment you may be entitled to compensation and other entitlements under the WorkCover scheme.

WorkCover is a no-fault scheme which means determining whether you are entitled to compensation is not affected by who is responsible for the injury as long as the injury occurred in the course of your employment.

Compensation under the WorkCover scheme includes:

  •    weekly payment of wages
  •    medical and rehabilitation expenses
  •    lump sum compensation for permanent impairment
  •    common law damages for negligence
  •    death benefits to a spouse/dependent of a deceased worker
